PEUGEOT

Peugeot is one of the French Car Companies. Peugeot is also one of the oldest car companies in the world; founded in September 1810 by Armand Peugeot, it started its operations as a steel foundry and later migrated into the production of bicycles.

In 1889, Armand created the company’s first automobile, a steam tricycle, then a Panhard- Daimler engine-powered internal combustion vehicle was produced in 1980.

Peugeot was the first car company to use rubber tires for a gasoline-powered vehicle and was also a forerunner in automobile racing.

Peugeot has won many awards globally, including six titles of the European Car of the Year awards.

The Peugeot company competed in motorsport and won the Indianapolis 500 in 1913, 1916, and 1919. The company won the 24 hours of Le Mans three times in 1993, 1993, and 2009.

It won The world endurance championship twice(1992 and 1993), the Intercontinental rally challenge, and the Pikes Peak international hill climb three times.

Peugeot has won many awards as a car company, and out of these awards is the Best SUV award of 2017 given by Carbuyer.

Not only SUVs, but also the medium SUV, as Peugeot’s products were known for having cutting-edge interior, exterior, and technology elements, and these products of the company are widely recognized in the SUV market.

Renault Motors

Renault is one of the French Car Companies, Renault motors were established in 1899, manufacturing various cars, vans, and auto rail vehicles. It has also produced trucks, tractors, tanks, buses and coaches, airplanes, and aircraft and aircraft engines.

The Renault corporation was established as Société Renault Frères by Louis Renault, alongside his brothers, Marcel and Fernand, in 1899.

Initially, before collaborating with his brothers, who were already fully grown in business while working with their father, Louis was known to be an excellent young engineer who had created prototypes.

When the company started, it bought its engines from De Dion-Bouton and started its engines in 1903. By 1907, Renault produced a sizable portion of cabs in London and Paris and was the top-selling foreign automobile brand in New York. It had 3,575 units in 1908. This made it the largest producer in the nation.

Considering the production volume, Renault motors was regarded as the ninth-largest automaker in the world in 2016, according to the Organization Internationale des Constructeurs d’Automobiles.

Also, in 2017, the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance overtook Toyota as the largest seller of light automobiles.

The plan was a success to the extent that the founder could afford to purchase the Mors company, another car company where he first served as president.

Later, the company was officially named Citroen SA and was well known for manufacturing, in mass, affordable automobiles. As of 1933, it dominated Paris as its products were used as 90% of Paris taxis.

In 1934, the traction Avant was created, helping the company become renowned for innovation.

The Traction Avant was the first mass-produced automobile in the world with front-wheel drive, four-wheel independent suspension, and unibody construction.

Bugatti

Bugatti is not left out as one of the French Car Companies. On Dec 22, 1998, a German automaker named Volkswagen AG created Bugatti automobiles SAS and registered it with French registration. Since then, it has been referred to as a French company, as its Main office has been in Molsheim, France.

Bugatti, however, had existed since 1909 but stopped its production in 1968 after it was sold. But, it was revived in 1998.

Intending to help the firm to establish a solid name in racing contests, notably the Grand Prix, Ettore Bugatti’s eldest son, Jean, worked alongside His father as a designer and test driver. Their Bugatti Type 35 won the inaugural Monaco Grand Prix.

In 2020, Bugatti delivered 77 automobiles to customers and, in 2021, announced that it had grown operating profit for the third consecutive year, making 2021 its most prosperous year.

Alpine Motors

We can not mention the French Car Companies without mentioning Alpine Motors. Alpine motors are the youngest of the cars we would bring to you. Alpine car is a manufacturer of racing and sports cars.

The youngest dealer, Jean Rédélé, after having some success in rallies, decided on founding his own business in 1955. This was the birthing of alpine motors. The name, Alpine, was a chosen homage to his racing accomplishments.

Later in the years, Alpine’s production stopped, and Renault motors bought the company.
