Asia is a continent that houses some technologically advanced nations like Japan and China. Thus, it is easier to find many car companies on the continent. We will therefore dive into considering a few of the car brands that exist in the continent.
Nissan
The first car company that we will consider is Nissan. Kwaishinsha Motor Car Works was the original name of the Nissan company when Masujiro Hashimoto launched it in 1911.
The company’s first vehicle was named DAT, coining the three names of their investing partners then. The car was produced three years after the launch of the company.
Throughout the 1920s, there were a lot of name changes until the name “Nissan motor company” was adopted and was first used in 1934.
The company has its headquarters in Japan, Nishi-ku, and Yokohama precisely. This company sells its cars under certain brands like Datsun and Infiniti.
Nissan ranked as the sixth largest automaker in the world in 2013, following Toyota, General Motors, and some other car companies worldwide. The company also earned about 80 billion dollars. During this same time, in 2022, it acquired the 10th largest automaker in the world.
Not only that, it has been among the most well-known car companies in the world and was at some point famously recognized as the best-selling electric car globally.
Chery
Then we shall slide gently to the second car company, Chery. Chery is a Chinese automobile-producing company headquartered in Wuhu, Anhul, produced in 1997.
The company was established during a significant time of technological advancement in China. Chery is currently known as the ninth-largest automaker in China.
When Chery was first established, it produced more passenger cars, commercial vehicles, minivans, and SUVs, but it started its production of cars in 1999.
Later in 2001, the company started exporting these cars outside China. Since 2003, the company has been China’s top exporter of passenger cars, exporting about 25 percent of its whole output in 2011.
China and Jaguar had a joint venture called Chery Jaguar Land Rover. This was a consequence of an attempt to make jaguar and Land Rover vehicles in China.
Globally, in 2021, Chery recorded 10 million users, including 1,950,000 from outside, holding the top spot among Chinese-made automobiles for 19 years back to back.

Subaru
Subaru is another Japanese car company founded by Kenji Kita in 1917. The company makes two products which are cats and airplanes.
Subaru has a long tradition of producing competent, thoughtfully constructed automobiles. Although Subaru made its first product in the automotive industry in 1954, it wasn’t until 1968 that Americans first saw Subaru’s cutting-edge engineering.
Subaru 360 is the first Subaru to be sold in the US. It was marketed and named “cheap and ugly.” However, it included the kind of engineering Subaru is now renowned for.
Ninety-six percent of Subaru products produced in the last ten years are built to last more than both Honda and Toyota brands.
According to Forbes, Subaru has also won the award of being among the top 10 brands that car consumers love.
Kia Motors
Kia Motors is another company in the Asian part of the world, situated in Seoul, South Korea, in 1944. The products of kia Motors company produces passenger cars, recreational vehicles, and commercial vehicles. These products include the Picanto, Rio 4-door, Rio 5-door, etc.
The meaning of Kia is “arise or come up out of Asia” and is derived from the sino-Korean words “ki,” which means “to come out,” and “a,” which stands for Asia, according to Kia Motors.

Kia motors had its US branch in 1992. It had four other dealerships in Portland and Oregon, producing its first Kia-branded cars in the US in 1994.

Great Wall has its headquarters in Baoding, Hebei, China. It is a privately owned Chinese car-producing company with 1.281 million sales in 2021. It ranks as China’s eighth-largest automaker since it was founded in 1984.
The name might sound relatively unfamiliar, but this company exists. It makes its products by itself, having its full brand. The company also produced electric vehicles of different kinds.

Great wall company is the biggest company that produces sports utility vehicles (SUVs) and pick-up trucks. The company earns its name from the Great Wall of China. It also is termed to be the third-largest Chinese producer of electric vehicles.
