2023 Ford Maverick Review: The Flexible, Fun, Capable Ford – The Ultimate Ford Maverick 2023 Complete Review.
2023 Ford Maverick Review: The Ultimate Ford Maverick 2023 Complete Review. However, the Ford authorities say that books on 2023-model-year Mavericks opened only five days ago, on Sept. 15.
Even with a new Ford Maverick coming out this new model year – featuring the new Tremor off-road grade, no less – the latest reports suggest the book is already closed for this week, having only opened in the middle of September.
New orders for the 2023 Ford Maverick are expected to end soon, late this week. The mid-range news is that those who can get orders confirmed will pay a premium over the buyers who took delivery of the Maverick in the first year.
Maverick Order Book
Ford closed Maverick orders books for the last time this January, so it is impossible to say when the 2024-model-year books will reopen. That decision was made for two separate reasons:
Demand for 2023 Mavericks has been even higher than expected, and FoMoCo has still got plenty of 2022 model year orders left unfilled.
The order books opened Sept. 15, following delays, and it was reported that Ford has postponed the new Ford Maverick to November, while Ford works on clearing the 2022 backlog of orders.
Due to overwhelming interest, Ford closed its orders book on the Maverick Hybrid Tuesday, less than a week after opening them, and is set to do the same with the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder-powered pickup truck, which will be available starting 10 p.m.
Now, a new Maverick is on the block, in the form of a 2023 model. Judging from current conditions and an optional Tremor package, the 2023 version looks likely to prove to be a bigger hit than the 2022 Ford Maverick.
Upgraded Features
If you pick up a Maverick Tremor, your compact pickup truck gets a one-inch lift, revised suspension, and also gets a new four-wheel-drive system.
The revised suspension gives the new Tremor off-road models a one-inch raise from standard trucks, and Ford has upgraded its transmission coolers and half-shafts to handle harsher conditions.
The Maverick Tremor also comes equipped with Ford’s Trail Control system, which acts like a kind of trail-legal low-speed cruise control.
For the rest of the general public forced into a window shopping experience with the 2023 Ford Maverick, there is the new $2,995 Tremor off-road package, $1,495 Tremor appearance package, and the black appearance package, all of which can be added on to XLT and Lariat trims.
Ford offers the Maverick in three trims– Ford Maverick XLT, and Ford Maverick Lariat--with the ford Maverick XL being the best option to get as cheaply priced as possible.
While the base XL trim is not the bargain-priced, twenty-grand hybrid that it used to be, our very own David Tracy is still dead correct in saying ordering a base Maverick XL hybrid is probably the best option in this lineup.
